Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre visits Gazimağusa

Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre was in the Gazimağusa region on Thursday.

He visited the Gazimağusa Police Directorate and the Eastern Mediterranean University.

Speaking during his visit to the police forces in Gazimağusa, Töre said, “We are following the work of the police organization with much appreciation”.

He said that the police are always on duty to protect the life and property of the people.

Stating that the police undertake important duties for the peace of society, Töre stated that the police carry out its work under the umbrella of the Cyprus Turkish Security Forces and the Prime Ministry.

Töre noted that they are aware that the police are understaffed, but that they also appreciate the self-sacrificing struggle of the organization.

Emphasizing that they and the public have full confidence in the police force, Parliamentary Speaker Töre said that it is important for the police to be loyal to the state and to work with this awareness.

Meanwhile during his visit to the Eastern Mediterranean University the Parliamentary Speaker said that it is the joint duty of all stakeholders to protect and stabilize the university.
