The Presidential People’s Council on Thursday convened for its 13th meeting, bringing together the TRNC National Olympics Committee and the Presidential Higher Committee for Sports.
The meeting was chaired by President Ersin Tatar.
Speaking during Thursday’s meeting, President Ersin Tatar highlighted the importance of carrying out an effective and determined struggle against the embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people.
He said that his support to initiatives to be taken in the field of sports will always continue.
Tatar also said that the embargoes imposed on Turkish Cypriot athletes and sports federations were against the understanding of sports and the Olympian spirit.
Earlier on Wednesday, the President People’s Council had come together with representatives of touring and automobile federations and associations.
