The first phase of the Mausoleum of Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş has been completed.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu visited the mausoleum and inspected the works on site.

Making a statement after inspecting the mausoleum Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stated that preparations for the second stage are underway.

He emphasized the importance of honoring Denktaş, who symbolizes the struggle for independence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people.

He mentioned that they will start the second phase soon and when completed, the Mausoleum will attract national and international visitors.

Ataoğlu stated that it is their duty and honor to keep Denktaş’s memory alive and announced plans to transform the building into a museum accessible to the public.

The completed first phase included landscaping, concrete floor renewal, herbal landscaping, and the addition of amenities like seating groups and a skateboard area.

The second phase will involve renovating the electrical system, creating children’s playgrounds and enhancing perimeter security with a wall and wiring.
