The Turkish Armed Forces conducted air operations against terrorist targets located in northern Iraq and Syria.
A total of 32 targets belonging to terrorists were successfully destroyed.
It was reported that the air operation, during which many terrorists were neutralized, is ongoing.
The Turkish Ministry of National Defence issued a written statement regarding the air operations targeting terrorist objectives.
In the statement from the ministry, it was noted that an air operation was carried out on October 23 against terrorist targets in northern Iraq and Syria, in accordance with the legitimate right of self-defence arising from Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, with the aim of neutralizing PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements to eliminate terrorist attacks against the public and security forces and to ensure border security.
The statement stressed that 32 targets belonging to terrorists were successfully destroyed, and it was also noted that the air operations are continuing resolutely.
The statement also expressed that many terrorists were neutralized during the operations using a maximum amount of domestic and national ammunition, highlighting that the Ministry of National Defence will continue the fight against terrorism with determination and resolve until not a single terrorist remains.
“The Turkish Armed Forces, which emerges from our noble nation, will continue to fight against terrorism with determination and resolve for the survival and security of our country and nation, just as it has in the past, until not a single terrorist remains,” the statement said.
It also stressed that all necessary measures were taken during these operations to ensure that innocent civilians, friendly elements, historical and cultural assets, and the environment were not harmed.
