Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has said that the Turkish Cypriots living abroad empowered the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Üstel was speaking at the 6th Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival held in North London.
Delivering a speech at the festival, Prime Minister Üstel said that as the government, they always approached things from a citizen-centred perspective.
Addressing Turkish Cypriots living abroad, Üstel said, “We are constantly working on what we can do in the TRNC for your comfort.”
Üstel expressed the joy of reuniting with the Turkish Cypriots residing in London after a long time and stated, “Your existence empowers us.”
Acknowledging the difficulties of living abroad, the prime minister said that they were working on further improving conditions in the TRNC and shared the government’s projects for Turkish Cypriots living abroad.
Üstel concluded his words by expressing his happiness of being together at such a meaningful event organized to ensure the unity and solidarity among Turkish Cypriots and to prevent the detachment of Turkish Cypriot youth from their culture.
