Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has reacted to the burning of a copy of the Quran in Sweden.

In a written statement, Üstel strongly condemned the incident which took place in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Stockholm, criticizing the Swedish Government, which allowed it to go ahead under the pretext of the freedom of thought.

In his statement, Prime Minister Üstel said “these ugly provocations and attacks targeting millions of people belonging to Türkiye and the religion of Islam will go down in history as an infamous stain.”
