Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has unveiled a comprehensive plan for 2025, pledging to launch major projects and alleviate economic challenges while continuing efforts to strengthen infrastructure, improve public services, and support citizens across various sectors.

In a New Year message extending his best wishes for a peaceful and prosperous 2025, Üstel reflected on the accomplishments of his administration.

He highlighted milestones such as completing long-awaited reforms in local governance, delivering key infrastructure projects, and securing historic agreements, including the plan to bring electricity from Türkiye via cable.

These achievements, he said, underscore his government’s commitment to fostering sustainable development and improving the nation’s quality of life.

Among the completed projects were the Lefkoşa and Alsancak-Girne bypasses, the renovation of the Girne Historic Harbour, and the addition of 22 new schools, with five more under construction.

Looking ahead, Üstel emphasized that 2025 would be a year of ambitious initiatives.

He said his government aims to address critical infrastructure needs, including completing major road connections and strengthening energy infrastructure through the procurement of new generators for Kıb-Tek. Healthcare facilities will be expanded with new hospitals in Girne and Güzelyurt and health centers in Lapta, Değirmenlik, and Maraş.

Economic support will also take center stage, with expanded loan programs to support first-time homebuyers, farmers, transport operators, and young entrepreneurs.

These measures, coupled with plans to modernize ports and upgrade digital infrastructure to 5G, are designed to drive growth and improve living standards.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to a service-oriented approach, prioritizing practical solutions over ideological divides. “2025 will be a year when economic hardships ease, and hopeful projects come to life. Our unwavering goal is to enhance the welfare of our people and secure a brighter future for our nation,” he said.

Ending his message with optimism, Üstel called on the public to embrace the coming year with unity and determination. “Together, we have achieved much, and together, we will achieve more. I wish everyone a peaceful, healthy, and prosperous 2025.”
