PM Üstel receives head of RTÜK

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel also met with the President of Türkiye’s Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), Ebubekir Şahin, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, Üstel stated that significant developments would occur in terms of both the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ recognition and the discipline of broadcasting as a result of the collaborative efforts between the Higher Broadcasting Council (YYK) and RTÜK.

The head of the TRNC’s Higher Broadcasting Council Feyzi Hansel as well as other members of the board were also present at Thursday’s meeting between Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and the RTÜK delegation.

Receiving the delegation, Üstel expressed his full confidence that the collaboration between RTÜK and the YYK would lead to further development of relations between the two institutions.

He emphasized his belief that significant progress would be made in terms of both the country’s recognition and the regulation of broadcasting as a result of the joint efforts.

“In the activities carried out for the rapprochement of the TRNC with the world with the support of the motherland Türkiye, the cooperation between RTÜK and YYK is also crucial. As the government, we will provide the necessary support for every effort to be made,” Üstel added.

RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin, during the meeting, expressed that collaboration between their respective institutions has been continuing smoothly since the first day.

“We are together both in international forums and at all international meetings held in the Republic of Türkiye. In addition, we will continue our existing collaboration in joint projects,” he added.
