Prime Minister Ünal Üstel on Thursday received the Board of Directors of the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) headed by Turgay Avcı.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Üstel highlighted the government’s goal of improving universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and expressed their desire to collaborate with YÖDAK for this purpose.

The prime minister also mentioned that efforts have been made for students coming to the TRNC from third-world countries to study at local universities, and expressed the government’s commitment to continuing efforts to support the development of universities and higher education, which are one of the key sectors in the economic growth of the country.

YÖDAK Chairman Turgay Avcı for his part said that they shared the government’s goal of advancing education with their recommendations and ideas.
