Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that the Turkish nation was celebrating the 101st anniversary of the 30th of August Victory Day with great honour and pride.

Üstel was among state and government officials who issued messages to highlight the significance of the day.

In his message issued to mark the 101st anniversary of the 30th of August Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel pointed out that this heroic struggle, holding tremendous significance in showcasing the exceptional bravery, unity, and strength of the Turkish nation to the entire world, also served as a source of inspiration for the freedom fight of all oppressed nations compelled to live under oppression during that period.

“Our nation, following the victory achieved under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, worked tirelessly and relentlessly despite challenging living conditions and the material and spiritual losses caused by successive years of warfare. They rebuilt a shattered nation from scratch and proudly earned the right to live with dignity and freedom”, he said.

Üstel added that the Republic of Türkiye, fuelled by the confidence and determination gained from this victory, continued to progress with strong steps on the path charted by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, achieving significant progress and managing to evolve into the position of the strong state, capable of competing with world nations in various fields.

“With a deep sense of responsibility to remember the hardships the Turkish nation endured to arrive at this day and to pass on this legacy to younger generations; on this meaningful day, we extend our gratitude to Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and the heroic Turkish Army. We remember our revered martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland with mercy and honour our veterans with respect and gratitude. With heartfelt emotions, I celebrate the 30th of August Victory Day of all of Türkiye,” he said.
