The leader of the National Unity Party (UBP) Prime Minister Ünal Üstel met with young people in Gazimağusa and İskele on Tuesday during which evaluated his latest contacts in Azerbaijan.

In his address to the youth, Prime Minister emphasized the importance of contacts with Azerbaijan and noted that there are significant opportunities for young people in Azerbaijan.

“Azerbaijan has the potential to be the second step on our journey of embracing the world after Türkiye,” he said, adding that they were working tirelessly to support the youth and to carry the country forward.

“Our youth are forced to live under embargoes. Economic and sports embargoes are still in place. The Republic of Türkiye is sparing no effort to end our isolation and with the strength we receive from our motherland we are also improving our relations with Azerbaijan. We have embarked on a new path. We are opening a new page,” he said.

Üstel said that they saw their visit to Azerbaijan as the first step in achieving the goal of embracing the world.

He explained that this visit has created significant opportunities for developing cultural, sporting, diplomatic relationships, and particularly for collaborations in the field of education.

“Azerbaijan is currently sending nearly one hundred thousand students to other countries. We have made the necessary contacts to be able to benefit from this great potential. We will solidify this with concrete steps in a short time,” the prime minister added.

He emphasized that young people will also benefit from this new potential that will emerge.

“Our vision of three states and one nation will be carried forward by our youth. There are also significant opportunities for young people in Azerbaijan and other Turkic states,” Prime Minister Üstel said.

He noted that they are embarking on a new path, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is also taking initiatives in this direction.

“Our relations with the Organization of Turkic States have increased. Our ministers have increased their contacts. We are embracing the world. The main goal of this opening is to connect our youth with the world,” he said.
