Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was happy and honoured to be walking the same path as the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS).

Hailing the will and solidarity shown by the member countries, Üstel welcomed the call made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay for the recognition of the TRNC.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel hailed the will and solidarity shown by member countries at the extraordinary summit of the Organisation of Turkic States attended by President Ersin Tatar and Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu.

Repeating the call made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the recognition of the TRNC, Üstel expressed the hope that member countries will pay heed to this call.

He said that the call made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay was a clear manifestation of the determination to continue the national struggle and protect the existence of the TRNC.

Üstel added that the TRNC was happy and honoured to be walking the same path as the OTS.
