The National Unity Party is 48 years old
In a message issued to mark on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the National Unity Party’s establishment, UBP leader and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel stated, “The National Unity Party is the guardian of our people and our state’s existence, sovereignty, freedom, and our rights and interests in Cyprus and the blue homeland.”
The leader of the UBP-Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said that his party embodies the spirit of the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT), which is a symbol of the struggle for freedom and existence of the Turkish Cypriot people.
“Our party, had embarked on the path of guiding a community that had been condemned to a life of suppression and isolation towards becoming a people with a state. Today with the responsibility and mission, the UBP continues to be the architect of all the major reforms and projects realized in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), without deviating from the line of being contemporary, Kemalist, secular, innovative, and visionary. The National Unity Party, fuelled by the strength it receives from the people, continues to strive for success,” he said.
Üstel also said that the National Unity Party which ensures the continuation of a strong relationship with motherland Türkiye based on love, respect, and trust, is an advocate of a two-state solution.
“The UBP is the guardian of the existence of our people and our state, our sovereignty, our freedom, and our rights and interests on the island and our blue homeland. It is also the guarantor of the welfare and happiness of our people, and the assurance of their democratic and social gains. As the National Unity Party members, as long as we are one and united, we will continue to be strong. As long as we are strong, the Turkish Cypriot people will continue on their journey towards a much brighter future, united and strong,” he said.
