Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has announced that the project for the construction of a social housing estate in Güzelyurt and the tender for the completion of Güzelyurt Hospital will take place in 2024.

Üstel was speaking during a visit to the Güzelyurt area on Monday.

Meeting with local businesses and residents, Prime Minister Üstel on Monday said the government had passed important legislation that served the public as promised in the government programme.

The prime minister also said that the government had serious plans for the Güzelyurt area in 2024, beginning with the construction of a social housing project as well as the completion of the tender for the construction of a hospital in the region

“The construction of social housing will start soon. We want to exempt them from taxes to reduce costs. We are waiting for the prosecutor’s opinion on this matter. We will make young couples who do not have a home homeowners. The draft law will be completed shortly,” he said.

Üstel also expressed his excitement about implementing the government’s five-year National Development Plan by taking into account the opinions of all stakeholders and said that they will strengthen the foundations of the state through planning.

Highlighting that there will be no turning back from the current policy of a two-state solution in Cyprus based on sovereign equality, the premier said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with the support of motherland Türkiye will continue on its own path to prepare the country for the future.
