Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that energy will be brought from motherland Türkiye, just as water has been brought to the country.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel came together with the public in Yılmazköy and Alayköy within the framework of his weekend visits.

After listening to their problems, Prime Minister Üstel emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people deserve the best of everything and noted that as soon as they came to the government, they took steps to benefit the people and started one by one implementing the laws that had been waiting for so long on.

He also announced that energy will be brought from Türkiye just as they brought water to the country.

“We will bring energy as we brought water from Türkiye.  The feasibility study will be completed in 4-5 months and we will finally have stable energy” said Üstel.

Commenting on the new Ercan Airport, Üstel said that they had opened a window to the world with the new airport adding that now they are fighting to remove the embargoes through law.

Noting that they are continuing to work so that young people can live freely on their own lands and own their own houses in their regions, Üstel stated that the first foundation for the social housing project will be laid in Alayköy simultaneously with Güzelyurt.

Explaining that rural plots in the Alayköy -Yılmazköy region will be redistributed to those who deserve it, Üstel said that the low-interest rate loan application will continue for young people in order for them to build their houses on rural plots.

He also said that they will continue to support producers and animal breeders.

“We are creating a unique support system. 800 million TL had been allocated for incentives in the budget but in the new budget, we made this figure 1 billion 850 million TL” said Üstel.

Emphasizing that with the support of Türkiye they have started the process so that the Turkish Cypriot people can embrace the world, Üstel said, “There is no such thing as federation talks in Cyprus anymore. There are two sovereign equal states on this island. If accepted, we will sit down and talk. In spite of those who belittle the observer membership of the TRNC at the Organization of Turkic States, we will continue to take firm steps towards embracing the world.”

Also touching upon Israel’s attacks on Gaza, the Premier emphasized that war crimes were committed there and that the UN and the EU remained bystanders.

“Palestine is experiencing great pain, because unfortunately they do not have Motherland Türkiye, they do not have a guarantor. But we live in peace with the assurance of our Motherland as a result of the 1974 Peace Operation, based on our rights from 1960. Our primary concern is the TRNC. Our main concern is that this flag flies stronger in the skies. For this, we are working hard in consultation with Türkiye. Step by step the TRNC is opening up to the world” said Üstel.
