The leader of the National Unity Party (UBP) – Prime Minister Ünal Üstel met with citizens in the Karpaz region over the weekend.

He visited Mehmetçik, Yenierenkoy and Dipkarpaz and gave important messages regarding the government’s work and the Cyprus issue.

Reminding that he visited Karpaz many times after taking office, Üstel said that Karpaz is the natural paradise of our country and therefore has a very special place in the hearts of the people.

Emphasizing that they want to make the stability in the country permanent Üstel said that day by day they are uniting even more and getting stronger and therefore the stronger they get the more projects they are able to realize in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with the support of Motherland Türkiye.

Explaining that the unconditional support provided by Türkiye in economic, diplomatic and strategic terms should be appreciated, Üstel reminded that the Turkish Cypriots had experienced the atrocities that are now taking place in Gaza until the intervention of Motherland Türkiye.

Emphasizing that in the light of the bitter experiences of the past, they will never accept an agreement that does not include sovereign equality and the guarantorship of Motherland Türkiye, Üstel said,

“We are the soldiers of this state with a president, prime minister, ministers, deputies and all the political party members that founded the TRNC and we are determined to keep it alive. Now we are proud to reach the 40th anniversary of our state.”

He said that in order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic, President Ersin Tatar has organised a massive Republic Day March that will begin at 10.30 on November 14.

“We will take part in this march together. We will fly our flag with enthusiasm. We will once again shout to the whole world our commitment to our state, the undeniable assurance of our Motherland Türkiye. We have turned the page to a new era. We will send an important message to the whole world with this march” said Üstel.

Pointing out that after the historic call made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the UN General Assembly, historical steps have started to take place for the TRNC, Üstel said, “Becoming an observer member of the Organization of Turkic States and our visit to Azerbaijan has become a light in the process of opening up to the outside world. Erdoğan lit this light. A new era has begun. New targets and other places may also come to the agenda.”

Stating that within the scope of the November 15 celebrations, they will host very valuable guests from Azerbaijan and will discuss areas of cooperation this time in the TRNC, he said that they will further increase dialogue with the UBP, the New Azerbaijan Party and the Justice and Development Party.

Emphasizing that they will continue to take decisive steps to resolve domestic problems while taking historic steps in foreign expansion, Üstel pointed out that separate actions are being carried out for every region within the TRNC.

He also said that many social housing projects will be realized in the area in order to encourage young people to stay in the region and establish their lives.
