Heavy rains in Türkiye, which were effective in the earthquake area has caused loss of life.

While two people lost their lives in Adıyaman, after their container home was swept away by flood waters, 13 people lost their lives due to floods in Şanlıurfa.

Search and rescue efforts continue for missing persons.

President Ersin Tatar and Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre issued messages.

President Ersin Tatar expressed his condolences and wished those who were injured in the flooding a speedy recovery.

“I would like to emphasize that our state stands by our compatriots in Türkiye, and are ready to assist if needed” said Tatar and expressed the belief that the wounds of the disaster and floods will be healed as soon as possible.

Acting President and Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre in his message conveyed his best wishes to all the people in the region who have not only been traumatized by the earthquake disaster but are now also dealing with floods.

“It is our greatest wish that our brothers and sisters, who were reported to be missing, will be found and reunited with their loved ones as soon as possible and that the disaster will end before it causes greater damage” said Töre and expressed his belief that motherland Türkiye will overcome this difficult period and heal the wounds of the people.
