Pr. Tatar and Deputy PM Ataoğlu receive musician Begüm Tekakpınar

President Ersin Tatar and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu received musician Begüm Tekakpınar, who won first prize at a music competition in Kyrgyzstan.

President Tatar emphasized that Begüm Tekakpınar, whose activities in Cyprus and abroad he closely follows, represents the Turkish Cypriot culture in the best possible way with her music.

Tatar congratulated Begüm Tekakpınar for her success on behalf of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in Kyrgyzstan and wished her continued success in the future.

Tatar also congratulated Begüm Tekakpınar’s family and teachers for their belief in her and support and congratulated the Director of the Department of Culture Şirin Zaferyıldızı Zaimağaoğlu, who encouraged her to participate in the competition.

Also speaking during the visit Begüm Tekakpınar stated that it was an honour for her to represent her country at such an event.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu also received Begüm Tekakpınar.

Speaking during the visit, Tekakpınar thanked the Director of the Culture Department Şirin Zaferyıldızı Zaimağaoğlu and Minister Ataoğlu for providing opportunities and supporting young artists.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Ataoğlu for his part stated that young people who struggle under embargoes should always be supported and that at every opportunity the youth of the country showed what they can do abroad.

Explaining that as the TRNC they participated in the competition organized in cooperation with the Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth and TURKSOY for the first time, Ataoğlu noted that BegümTekakpınar’s achievement has brought great joy to the country.
