President Ersin Tatar is continuing with his contacts in the British capital London and came together with representatives of Turkish Cypriot organizations and youth.

During his meeting with the organizations and youth, President Tatar emphasized the importance of the support of the Turkish Cypriot community living in the UK and asked them to contribute to the efforts to strengthen the new policy on Cyprus in unity.

The meeting between President Ersin Tatar, Turkish Cypriot civil society organizations and youth organizations was realized at the TRNC London Representative office.

The promotional launch of President Ersin Tatar’s book “Vision of Two States in Cyprus” was also realized.

Speaking during his books promotional launch President Ersin Tatar thanked all who contributed to the preparation of the book and pointed to the importance of a two-state solution in Cyprus.

Referring to his contacts in the UK, Tatar said that he informed all parties that the Turkish Cypriot people will not be under the yoke of the Greek Cypriots and that they will continue on their own path with their own state.

He stated that the Greek Cypriot side has rejected all solution agreements that have emerged in the past 60 years, and said that this was the reason they had proposed a solution based on the cooperation of two-states during the period.

“Cooperation can take place in all fields, especially in energy” he added.

Explaining that Cyprus is an important island and instead of tensions in the region they can establish a future in cooperation, Tatar said that the TRNC has established itself as a strong state in the region and they will not return to the past.

“There are two states in Cyprus and the realities of Cyprus must be accepted. The embargoes enforced against the Turkish Cypriot people and all restrictions must be removed” said Tatar adding that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is the guarantee of stability in the region.
