President Ersin Tatar met with families from Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman who were affected by the earthquake and are being hosted by the Tatlısu Municipality.

Speaking during the visit the president said that the February 6 earthquake, which is considered as the disaster of the century, caused great suffering, and added that efforts are continuing to heal the wounds of those affected by the earthquake.

The president also attended a charity sale organized by the Hala Sultan Theology College under the slogan “Work-Win-Share”.

Speaking here the president said that the Turkish Cypriot people are always ready for anyone who needs them.

“We have guests visiting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) from earthquake regions from Türkiye. Of course, we will be assisting them during these difficult times” said Tatar.

He said that schools in the TRNC are open to all children affected by the earthquake so that they can continue their education uninterrupted.

He stated that the Turkish Cypriot people will continue their struggle in Cyprus as an inseparable part of Anatolia and emphasized that the Republic of Türkiye will always continue to support the Turkish Cypriot people.

Noting that there have been various international plots that were aimed at detaching the Turkish Cypriots from Motherland Türkiye, Tatar said that they have always responded to these in unity with Türkiye.

“We will continue to inform the international community that we are living independently and freely in our country thanks to the deterrent force of the Turkish military on the island and we want Türkiye as our guarantor. I give great importance to the work being carried out for the perpetuation of the Turkish Cypriot people,” said Tatar.
