President Ersin Tatar said that the country was going through a period of recovery following the devastating earthquake disaster in Türkiye.

He said that everyone was working hard to heal the wounds of the disaster in a spirit of unity and solidarity.

In his message issued to mark Civil Defence Day, President Ersin Tatar said that the latest earthquakes in Türkiye demonstrated the importance of preparing for such disasters and taking necessary measures in advance.

“This is why we must do everything possible to strengthen the capabilities of the Civil Defence Organisation,” he said.

Tatar also said that the TRNC Civil Defence was the pride of the Turkish Cypriot people and that it was important to continue the support the organisation and its mission.

The president concluded his remarks by wishing the Civil Defence Organisation success in its future efforts.
