President Ersin Tatar received the President of the Higher Education, Planning, Accreditation and Coordination Council Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı and its members.

Speaking during the visit, President Ersin Tatar pointed out that universities are a source of pride for the country.

Explaining that more than 100 thousand students have graduated since the establishment of universities in the TRNC, President Tatar emphasized that international students’ act as honorary ambassadors when they return to their countries.

He said that it is important to open new programs in universities under the control of YÖDAK in terms of higher education.

Reminding that universities were closed during the pandemic period and replaced with distance education, Tatar said that by taking advantage of the experiences gained during that time and benefiting from communication, academic studies can be followed and shared with the world at the same time, thus overcoming the obstacles imposed on the country.

Pointing out that the TRNC is an island of education with its human resources, infrastructure and modern investments, President Tatar said, “We are in an important place in terms of geography and time zone, so we have an advantage in trade and education. The weather, nature and climate are beautiful and these make education even more attractive.”
