President Ersin Tatar received the Director of the State Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal and the head of the Library Department of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Ayhan Tuğlu.

Speaking during the visit the President drew attention to the importance of archives.

Pointing out that there are two separate peoples, states and democracies in Cyprus, President Tatar said, “There is a perception that there is only one people in Cyprus under the rule of Greek Cypriots. We can show with documents that there are two separate peoples and democracies in Cyprus. Our foundation as a state and as a people is to create documents in the archives. It is also stated in the founding agreements that there are two separate peoples in Cyprus”.

“The peoples own religion, language, what they have done in history, the price they paid and the order they establish is what creates them. Their records are in the archives. In order for their values to be revealed the support to be given by Türkiye is vital” said Tatar.
