Pr. Tatar says Crisis and Coordination Desk continues its efforts

The Presidency’s Crisis and Coordination Desk is continuing with its work.

President Ersin Tatar said that all efforts were being made in order to reach the children who are trapped under rubble in Türkiye.

President Ersin Tatar, Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu, Commander of the Turkish Peace Forces in Cyprus Major General Sezai Öztürk, Commander of the Security Forces Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu, Presidential Undersecretary Okan Donangil and other officials all attended the meeting that took place to organize the teams that will assist in efforts to save those who are trapped under the rubble in Türkiye.

President Tatar said that heavy winter conditions are hampering the rescue efforts and that two heavy machinery and a crane have joined the rescue efforts in Adıyaman.

He also said that Türkiye is assisting the TRNC team in the rescue efforts and that all work is continuing at full speed.

“Our prayers are with the children and we thank all who are taking part in the rescue efforts” said Tatar.

The president also said that work is continuing in order to bring students who were in Kahramanmaraş and transferred to Adana back home and other TRNC citizens who have been left stranded in Türkiye.

Meanwhile the Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu who is in Türkiye joined the meeting via telephone and gave information regarding the search and rescue efforts in Türkiye.
