President Ersin Tatar emphasized once again that there are two separate states in Cyprus and that the whole world is aware of this.

He also stated that international diplomacy is being carried out on various platforms for the promotion of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Receiving the President of the National Olympic Committee Dursun Koç and his accompanying delegation on Monday, President Tatar put emphasis on the fact that there are two separate states in Cyprus.

Noting that various diplomatic efforts are being carried out at international platforms for the recognition of the TRNC, President Tatar touched upon the importance of the TRNC being accepted as an observer member to the Organization of Turkic States (OIC).

He noted that in this regard Motherland Türkiye utilized all its’ means in the best way possible.

Noting that the whole world was aware of the fact that there are two separate states and two separate peoples in Cyprus, President Tatar said that although it is great for representatives of different peoples to take part in events at international platforms, due to legal reasons at some organizations, this was not possible.

He also informed the delegation that due to the Turkish Cypriots being treated like this because of a decision taken by the United Nations almost 60 years ago, they were unable to obtain the place that they deserve within the international community.

President Tatar also emphasized that they will continue with their struggle for recognition without giving up.
