Pres. Tatar & First Lady Siber Tatar inaugurate photograph exhibition in Baku

President Ersin Tatar and his wife, Sibel Tatar took part in the opening of the “Photograph and Traditional Costumes Exhibition” in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, as part of the “Culture and Promotional Days of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.”

Delivering a speech at the event, President Tatar said that they were experiencing a historic day in Baku and recalled his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.

He talked about the significance of his visit to Azerbaijan and the discussions they had with Aliyev, sending greetings to the attendees.

President Tatar highlighted the exceptional efforts made by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), in collaboration with the Republic of Türkiye, to strengthen relations with their friends and brotherly countries like Azerbaijan and other Turkic states.

He emphasized the presence of two distinct peoples in Cyprus and underlined that their noble struggle against attempts to marginalize them is rooted in their culture.

Expressing his pride in artists, President Tatar mentioned that they were a strong delegation in Azerbaijan, and conveyed the message to President Aliyev.

He also noted that the photography exhibition depicted the beauty of Cyprus and its history.

President Tatar also described the 1974 Turkish Peace Operation, as their greatest victory and stated that the photographs portrayed the landing of Turkish soldiers and the joint efforts of Turkish Cypriots and Turkish soldiers.

He underscored the strength of the Turkish Cypriot people, declaring, “We are everywhere, and we will continue to exist and succeed.”
