President Ersin Tatar and his wife Sibel Tatar hosted a reception at the Presidency to mark the 40th Anniversary of the TRNC.

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz also attended the reception.

Guests were treated to a concert by the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, the Security Forces Command Band, the State Opera and Ballet Coordination Centre of the Deputy Prime Ministry’s Office, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment.

The TRNC 40th Anniversary Anthem was performed at the concert.

Delivering a short speech at the event, President Ersin Tatar stated that the TRNC will be permanent and that this Republic, which will be passed on from generation to generation should be further strengthened.

He stated that Motherland Türkiye’s international contacts and all efforts for the recognition of the TRNC will continue.

Tatar stated that the TRNC, which was declared by Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş 40 years ago, has come to these days in unity and solidarity, despite the difficulties, and reiterated that it is everyone’s duty to take firm steps towards the future.
