President Tatar evaluated his contacts

President Ersin Tatar, who attended the 16th Economic Cooperation Organization summit held in Uzbekistan as an observer member, returned home on a private plane of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Evaluating his contacts in Uzbekistan at a press conference at Ercan Airport, Tatar noted that the ECO, which has 10 members, has a joint population of over 500 million and that they attached importance to relations with the organization, which has a strong economic value.

Stating that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has always stood by and supported the Turkish Cypriot people, President Tatar said they held important discussions on the tourism, construction and university sectors at the summit.

Explaining that they have taken initiatives in the field of tourism with the support of Türkiye, Tatar said that Turkish President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of the TRNC’s participation in the summit as an observer member and called for the Turkish Cypriot people not to be left alone, to protect the Turkish Cypriot people against unjust embargoes and to provide the necessary support.

He added that it is important for the TRNC to take part in such international platforms.

Meanwhile Tatar said that he had returned home with a private plane of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in order to attend the November 10 commemoration ceremonies.
