The people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will go to the polls this year for the presidential election that is realized every 5 years.

Making pre-election evaluations, President Ersin Tatar announced that he will run again in the 2025 Presidential election.

President Ersin Tatar, in an assessment to a private TV channel, stated that he will be a candidate again in the Presidential election to be held this year.

Tatar said, “I expect the support of those who advocate a two-state solution and wish to establish good relations with Türkiye. The support I receive is important. My political stance, my international engagements and relations with Türkiye, and my efforts to solidify and institutionalize the two-state solution policy are clear. Thanks to the good relations we have established with Türkiye, the number of students, tourists and businesspeople coming to the country has increased.”
