President Ersin Tatar is continuing with his contacts in Türkiye.

Upon completing his contacts in Denizli, he moved on to Kars.

President Ersin Tatar embarked on his contacts in Kars by visiting the Sarıkamış Monument.

Commenting on his visit to the local press, Tatar emphasized that the Republic of Türkiye stood by the Turkish Cypriot people at every stage.

Stating that the struggle in this region where tens of thousands of soldiers were martyred under extraordinary conditions and the sacrifices made during the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye will not be forgotten.

Tatar also said that if the Turkish Cypriot people have an independent state today and live in peace and security it is thanks to Türkiye.

Emphasizing that in the new century of the Republic of Türkiye, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will continue to develop along with Türkiye, Tatar said that they are here thanks to the prices paid and sacrifices made.

He explained the struggles of the Turkish Cypriot people on the island for years and the new two-state solution policy.

Tatar said that they are pursuing the new policy with the full support of the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“We are inseparable” said Tatar and noted that as the TRNC, they have taken their place as an observer member in the Organization of Turkic States and that they are trying to increase cooperation with Turkic states.

Also giving a conference on “The Strategic Importance of the TRNC in the Turkic World” at Kars Kafkas University; Tatar stated that the TRNC is an independent Turkish state and gave information regarding the history of Cyprus.

He also emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people are one of the founding partners of the Republic of Cyprus and that they continue on their way as an equal people without giving up their state and struggle.

Noting that what is happening in Gaza today was done against the Turkish Cypriot people in the 1960s, Tatar explained that the UK was the guarantor country, but remained a spectator to what the Turkish Cypriot people experienced in those years.

Stating that the Turkish Cypriot people struggled with an unknown future until 1974, President Tatar stated that the Turkish army prevented Cyprus becoming a Greek island through games.

“Peace came to the island in this way” said Tatar and noted that after the operation, bi-zonality was formed on the island with two separate peoples and each people determined their own future.

He also emphasized that a compromise cannot be reached on the Cyprus issue without accepting the sovereign equality and the equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people.

As part of his visit to the Kars region, Tatar also visited the Kars Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
