In his message the president wrote “As we enter the December 21-25 National Struggle and Martyrs Week, I once again commemorate all our martyrs with mercy and gratitude and greet our veterans with gratitude”.

He said that alongside the epic struggle for existence and freedom waged by the Turkish Cypriot people in order to live freely in its own homeland, to govern itself and to determine its own future, with the support of motherland Türkiye, it won its independence, sovereignty and established its State.

“It is our promise to our martyrs and veterans and our debt to future generations not to go back from this point gifted to us by the Heroic Mujahids, who showed great resistance under the leadership of the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT) against the Greek Cypriot attacks launched 60 years ago in order to destroy the Turkish Cypriot People, make Cyprus a Hellenic island and prevented the island from being connected to Greece while protecting the Turkish presence in Cyprus” said Tatar.
