President Ersin Tatar issued a message full of praise to mark November 10, the 85th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s death.
In his message, President Tatar wrote “Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is the most important commander, statesman and revolutionist of the 20th century, who raised a nation that was wanted to be destroyed by imperialist powers. He defeated the enemies with the War of Independence and established a State”.
“The modern Republic of Türkiye, founded under the leadership of Atatürk, has been a source of inspiration for other oppressed nations and has been instrumental in gaining their freedom and establishing their own independent states” said Tatar.
Noting that Turkish Cypriots, guided by the principles and reforms of Ataturk and with the support of the Republic of Türkiye founded by him, had fought for their existence and freedom and established their own State, Tatar said “Our people will forever follow the path drawn by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and will not give up their sovereignty, independence and security from the State of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
“I commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, with love and respect on the 85th anniversary of his departure from us. May his soul rest in peace” wrote Tatar.
