President Tatar received AK Party MP Veysel Eroğlu

President Ersin Tatar received the former Turkish Minister of Forestry and Water Works Justice and Development Party Afyonkarahisar Deputy Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu at the presidential palace on Monday and expressed his gratitude to Eroğlu who played a major role in preparing the Water Supply Project between the two countries.

Noting that the water supply project allows water to flow from the Alaköprü Dam in Anamur to Geçitköy and from there to all parts of the island via suspended pipes, Tatar stated that investments are continuing so that the water can be used for agricultural purposes.

He noted that the importance of the project had been highlighted once again due to global warming; the islands arid climate and food security issues that emerged after the Ukraine-Russia War.

Noting that the projects presented by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Türkiye will be evaluated at the workshop to be organized by the Istanbul Technical University, President Tatar drew attention to the importance of these projects for the TRNC.

Referring to the importance of Türkiye’s support of two separate sovereign equal states living side by side, President Tatar underlined the significance of the Water Supply Project in order to strengthen the structure of the TRNC.
