President Ersin Tatar received Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak.

Speaking during the visit Turkish Minister Osman Aşkın Bak stated that an important Sports Council was held for the TRNC to develop in the field of sports and touched upon his visits.

Stating that many projects will be put into action for the development of sports and athletes in the TRNC and for the sports infrastructure, Bak stated that the council will be guiding the efforts at this point.

Touching upon the sports infrastructure and facilities in Türkiye, he stated that Türkiye will host the 2032 European Football Championship together with Italy.

Pointing out that Turkish President Erdoğan has expressed the just cause of TRNC on every platform, Bak said “we always support the TRNC and I hope the young people of this country will follow this cause”.

President Ersin Tatar for his part said that with the support of Türkiye they are informing the world of the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people.

“We will never settle for imposed solutions. It is important for our young people to participate in sports competitions in Türkiye in terms of equality of opportunity and to participate in international competitions through Türkiye. There have been important developments in sports under the leadership of Turkish President Erdoğan” said Tatar.

Noting that there are very talented athletes in the TRNC, Tatar expressed the hope that the youth, who are under embargoes and isolation, will benefit from all that Türkiye has to offer.
