President Tatar receives EMU Vakıf Board of Trustees

President Ersin Tatar emphasized that the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is the country’s leading university.

President Ersin Tatar made the statement while he received Dr. Erdal Özcenk, the Chairman of the EMU Vakıf Board of Trustees, and its board members.

Speaking during the visit Dr. Erdal Özcenk highlighted the importance of the support President Tatar provided to the university during its difficult times.

President Ersin Tatar for his part emphasized that EMU is the leading university of the country.

Tatar stated that he believes the university, which has graduated more than 75,000 students so far, will continue to rise in international rankings due to the quality of its education.

Noting that events in Ukraine and Gaza, as well as crises and pandemics have negatively affected higher education and students coming to the country, President Tatar said “We have overcome an important period at EMU thanks to the dedication of our Prime Minister, our government, the university administration, staff, academic and administrative personnel, with the serious support of the presidency and the government.”

Emphasizing that the Eastern Mediterranean University has made significant contributions to higher education, Tatar pointed to the importance of leveraging institutional memory and experience to take the university further.
