President Tatar to receive UNSG Personal Envoy Holguin

The United Nations Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Cyprus Maria Angela Holguin is holding contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and South Cyprus as part of her ongoing efforts to achieve common ground between the two sides on the island to re-launch negotiations.

Holguin was received on Wednesday by President Ersin Tatar at noon.

Earlier on Wednesday, the UN personal envoy met with the leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration Nikos Christodulidis separately.

Before her arrival to the island on Tuesday, Holguin met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara.

Holguin is expected to leave the island on Tuesday, May 14 after completing her contacts.
