President Ersin Tatar visited the Martyrs’ Failies and Disabled War Veterans Association.

President Ersin Tatar, while visiting the Martyrs’ Families and Disabled War Veterans Association underlined the importance of the work carried out by the Association with sacrifice and determination over the years.

“Our responsibility towards our martyrs is to keep the TRNC alive forever. Our struggle for this cause will continue,” said Tatar.

He also stated that together with Türkiye, in their contacts abroad, they explained that a treaty could be possible not in partnership with Greek Cypriots, but under the equality of two separate sovereigns living side by side, and that they never want to return to the pre-1974 period.

Stating that they want a treaty based on the cooperation of two equal sovereign states in Cyprus, President Tatar emphasized that they will not give up Türkiye’s guarantees and the presence of Turkish soldiers.

He also stated that the peace, tranquility and security environment on the island of Cyprus is owed to the martyrs.
