President Ersin Tatar is continuing his contacts in the German capital, Berlin.

As part of his engagements, President Tatar visited Türkiye’s Ambassador to Berlin, Ahmet Başar Şen, and also met with members of the press.

Meeting with business people residing in Germany at the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association Berlin branch, Tatar called for investments in the TRNC.

Following the visit, which was closed to the press, President Tatar met with journalists at the Embassy building and briefed them on the recent developments regarding Cyprus.

Describing the struggle against the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo’s dream of Enosis and the resistance put up by Turkish Cypriots against these efforts, President Tatar recalled the arrival of peace and tranquillity to the island with the Turkish Peace Operation on July 20, 1974.

Tatar said that a federal agreement in Cyprus is no longer possible, asking, “What the sin and crime of the Turkish Cypriots are that they still suffer from such unjust embargoes? These actions are contrary to human rights.”

President Ersin Tatar also criticized German President Frank Walter Steinmeier, who visited the Greek Cypriot side two weeks ago.

He said that the Cyprus problem could not be solved through empty rhetoric, emphasizing that they have adopted a model of sovereign equality between two states, and reminded that these new policies are also supported by Ankara.

Tatar emphasized that the support of Türkiye for their new solution model and new policies strengthened their hands, stating that an agreement without sovereign equality would be like writing on ice.

He also emphasized that zero troops and zero guarantees would spell the end of the Turkish Cypriots, stressing that they will never give up Türkiye’s guarantees or the presence of Turkish troops on the island.

President Ersin Tatar also visited the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association Berlin branch as part of his contacts. Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu accompanied Tatar during the visit.

In his speech here, President Tatar stated that the world needs to see the realities of Cyprus now, emphasizing that outdated unjust embargoes and isolations need to be lifted immediately.

President Tatar reiterated that they will never give up on their vision of a two-state solution, emphasizing that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is important for Türkiye’s security in the Mediterranean.

He also stated that the TRNC continues to develop in tourism, higher education, agriculture, and construction, calling on business people living in Germany to invest in the country.
