President Tatar visits YÖDAK

President Ersin Tatar paid a visit to the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Board (YÖDAK) on Thursday and met with the YÖDAK President Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı, board members and academics from some universities.

They held discussions regarding what steps could be taken to increase the quality of education and attract qualified students to the country.

During the visit, YÖDAK President Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı explained that committees were formed to work on the admission and registration conditions of international students and lateral transfers in order to attract qualified students to the country.

President Ersin Tatar for his part stated that with the support of Türkiye, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has become a centre of attraction for investments in infrastructure and  communication and that interest in education has increased with the investments made by universities.

He said that thanks to the universities, academics who were abroad have returned to the country and together with foreign academicians the quality of education has increased.

Noting that there are students from 144 different countries studying in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus which is on the way to becoming a brand in education in the Eastern Mediterranean, Tatar said that this is an important step towards recognition.
