An event titled “Tourism Meeting at AdaKıbrıs” is being held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with the aim of developing tourism activities.
As part of this event, a delegation from the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) is currently in the TRNC to participate in the event.
As part of the “Tourism Meeting at AdaKıbrıs,” event, President Ersin Tatar met with TÜRSAB Vice President Davut Günaydın and his delegation, accompanied by Orhan Tolun, President of the Cyprus Turkish Travel Agencies Association (KITSAB).
President Tatar emphasized the TRNC’s growing regional importance and its progress in tourism despite Greek Cypriot pressure and embargoes and noted that the TRNC has broken out of its shell in tourism.
He highlighted the country’s natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and historical landmarks like Namık Kemal Square and noted that while the TRNC draws many Turkish tourists, it is now attracting international visitors as well.
He called the TRNC a “land of martyrs” and a stronghold in the Eastern Mediterranean, stressing its potential and the importance of preserving it for future generations.
Tatar also pointed to the reopened closed city of Maraş, which has been visited by 2.5 million people, as a major tourism and historical asset with high value.
