Presidential People’s Council holds new meeting

The Presidential People’s Council held its latest meeting on Wednesday under the chairmanship of President Ersin Tatar.

Speaking during the meeting, Tatar highlighted the importance of unity and solidarity in the fight against the embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people.

The People’s Council, chaired by President Ersin Tatar, held its 12th meeting on Wednesday bringing together representatives from the Northern Cyprus Touring and Automobile Association, the Cyprus Turkish Motorcycle Association, the Northern Cyprus Automobile Club, the Cyprus Turkish Classic Car Association, the Northern Cyprus Drag and Sports Car Association, the Mountain Track Off-road Association, the Northern Cyprus Off-road Association, the Northern Cyprus Classic and Sports Car Club, the Northern Cyprus Rally Club Association, the Northern Cyprus Classic Jaguar Association, the Güzelyurt Classic Vehicles Association and the Girne Off-road Association.

During the meeting, President Tatar gave information regarding the latest developments in Cyprus and the Turkish Cypriot side’s policy in favour of a two-state solution based on sovereign equality.

He stated that the main goal was to protect the existence of the Turkish Cypriot people, the state, sovereignty and freedom as well as to reach more prosperous days.

He said that the institutions and associations had made great contributions to the promotion of the TRNC by participating in international events held in various countries.

Stating that he has been supporting the activities of various non-governmental organizations and institutions for many years, Tatar said that he is ready to provide the necessary support for the solution of their problems.

The president also touched upon the importance of waging an effective and determined struggle against the unfair and inhumane embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people.

The heads of institutions and associations conveyed their problems to President Ersin Tatar during the meeting.
