Prime Minister Üstel stated that Türkiye has always supported the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) at every point and that they are taking firm steps towards the future by finding strength from Türkiye.

Üstel made this statement while receiving the visiting Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak.

Speaking during the visit the Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak expressed his belief that the Sports Council had been very productive and that it will provide important gains to the TRNC sporting policies.

Also touching upon the opening of the Science Lefkoşa where a new door was opened to the TRNC youth in terms of technology; Bak said that their support will continue with new investments and projects from now on.

He also said that the TRNC should now be recognized and pointed to the statements of Turkish President Erdoğan in this direction.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel for his part said “Türkiye is our guarantor and always supports us so that our economy can improve. Türkiye is the one that also approves large projects. If we live freely today, it is thanks to Türkiye’s 1974 Peace Operation.”

“On November 15, we will sustain our state, which we established in 1983 and keep it alive forever. We find this strength from Türkiye” said Üstel.

He also pointed out that Turkish President Erdoğan has always glorified the TRNC and called for its recognition and said, “Thanks to this, we carried out an important visit to Azerbaijan and I’m certain more visits will follow”.

Pointing to the importance of the contributions made in the field of sports, Üstel said that he is sure that the investments made in the TRNC in every field will continue.

Üstel also expressed his desire for the embargoes on transportation and sports to be lifted, as the Turkish Cypriots are suffering under the embargoes.
