The Meteorology Department has announced that heavy rain is expected on Monday and Tuesday.
According to the weather forecast issued by the Meteorology Department covering the dates August 31st to September 6th the region will generally be under the influence of a low pressure system.
A hot and relatively humid air mass is forecast during the first half of the period while a cool and humid air mass is forecast in the upper atmosphere in the second half of the period.
The highest temperature will generally be around 35 to 38 degrees inland and 31 to 34 degrees on the coasts.
The weather today will be partly cloudy with fog in the early hours of the morning.
As for Friday, Saturday and Sunday skies will be clear with some clouds throughout the day, and on Monday and Tuesday will be partly cloudy with local showers throughout the day.
Wednesday will be clear and becoming partly cloudy later in the day.
Winds will blow southerly to westerly moderate becoming strong at times.
