The International Turkic Culture Organization (TÜRKSOY) and the Turkish Cypriot Businesswomen’s Association (GIKAD) collaborated to host the “Turkic World Ethno-Fashion Meeting to mark October 3, “Turkic States Cooperation Day,”
During the event, speakers emphasized that the developing relations between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the Turkic world have made a significant contribution to the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people.
The event was attended by President Ersin Tatar, the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre and the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa, Yasin Ekrem Serim.
The seventh edition of the TÜRKSOY Ethno-Fashion Meeting took place in the TRNC with the aim of strengthening the cultural ties among Turkic states and showcasing their long-standing friendships.
The event was held at the Acapulco Resort Hotel and featured a “Diplomacy Panel of Turkic States.
Speaking first, the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa, Yasin Ekrem Serim, noted that it was gratifying to see that the political, social, economic, and cultural ties of the Turkish Cypriots, an inseparable part of the Turkic world, are increasing every day.
Stressing that the Cyprus issue was not just the problem of the Turkish Cypriots, but of the entire Turkic world, Ambassador Serim stated that Türkiye will continue to take steps to ensure the recognition of the sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people and to help the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) attain the position it deserves in the international community.
The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre, stressed the need for greater integration among Turkish states and communities in all areas, including culture, art, and economy.
He emphasized the importance of unity in language, ideas, and actions.
Also speaking, President Tatar expressed his happiness in hosting this event as part of the Turkic world and emphasized the significance of cooperation established between the TRNC and the Turkic world under the leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
He noted that the event showcased the cultural heritage transported from Central Asia to the present day, underscoring that this shared heritage consists of historical values that bind Turkic states together.
