The Bicommunal Committee on Cultural Heritage continues its efforts to preserve historical sites across Cyprus.
The conservation work at St. George Church in Mormenekşe village has been completed, while the restoration of the Tera Mosque in South Cyprus is in its final stages.
According to information provided by Ali Tuncay, Co-Chair of the Committee, the restoration of St. George Church in Mormenekşe village has been finalized.
Tuncay also shared that in 2025, preservation work is planned for a historic house in Mormenekşe, known for its stone carvings, and a traditional windmill in the same area.
In addition, Tuncay reported that the restoration of the historic Tera Mosque, one of the Committee’s projects in South Cyprus, is nearing completion.
Following the completion of this project, a visit to the mosque is scheduled for next month, where a special event will be held to celebrate the preservation of this heritage site.
