Russia’s news agency TASS announced that Russia’s Embassy in South Cyprus will start providing consular services to its citizens in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, in the capital Lefkoşa.
According to a statement made by the Russian Ambassador to South Cyprus Murat Zyazikov, the decision was taken in order to provide services to Russian citizens living in Northern Cyprus.
In the news published in TASS, it pointed out that this step will be taken to fulfil Russia’s obligations towards Russian citizens living in the northern part of Cyprus.
It also noted that the US, Britain, Germany, Italy and France have long provided consular services to the northern part of Cyprus.
