Saner evaluated Ankara contacts at a press conference at Ercan Airport

Prime Minister Ersan Saner returned to the Republic on Thursday after completing his contacts in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Evaluating his contacts at a press conference he held at Ercan Airport, the Premier reminded that the 2021 Economic and Financial Cooperation agreement was signed with Turkey.

Saner said the main aim of the protocol was to increase the economic activities and complete the infrastructure investments in the TRNC.

Explaining that Turkey will be channelling 2.5 billion TL to the TRNC as part of the protocol, he said with the additional 750 million TL assigned from 2020, 3 billion 250 million TL in total will be provided to the TRNC.

Announcing that additional 20 thousand doses of the Sinovac Vaccine had arrived to the country today from Turkey, the Premier pointed out that 15% of the population could be vaccinated.

Stating that infrastructure investments especially in the transportation sector will start with the signing of the protocol, Saner said an e-state portal will also come into service in the country.

He also added that the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises will be supported with an energy support alongside 360 million TL support.

Noting that an agreement was also reached for a new industrial zone, Saner said the foundation will be laid for new industrial zone which will boost the economic activities.

Explaining that they discussed many issues, including the Cyprus, issue with Turkey, the Premier said that they were in full harmony with Turkey.

Saner also stressed that they were in full agreement with Turkey on two equal sovereign states.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Saner will be evaluating his Ankara contacts on a special program to be broadcast live on BRT at 8:30pm on Thursday.
