Savaşan: TRNC can meet the needs of world tourism education

The President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council Dr. Ahmet Savaşan drew attention to the fact that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) can meet the needs of young people when it come to giving education on the tourism sector.

The issue had come on to the agenda of the Ministerial Summit held in London.

This year, the Tourism Ministers Summit, organized in cooperation with the United Nations World Tourism Organization and the World Health Tourism Council, was held under the “Transforming Tourism through Youth and Education”.

According to the information given by the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, the President of the World Health Tourism Council, MP Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, participated in the Ministerial Summit at the World Tourism Fair and signed special agreements with some health and tourism businesses to open a health tourism liaison office in London.

Savaşan said that the goal of the agreements is to achieve a 70 percent increase in the number of health tourists brought to the TRNC from the UK.

Pointing out that there is an important opportunity for the TRNC in qualified tourism education, Savaşan said that the 23 universities in the TRNC have a “huge” potential in meeting this need.
