Cyprus Turkish Security Forces continue to operate in Antakya

Efforts to recover from the earthquake disaster that struck Türkiye on the 6th of February are continuing.

The Cyprus Turkish Security Forces Command’s Disaster Relief Task Force is continuing its relief efforts in the city centre, districts and villages of Antakya without interruption.

The Cyprus Turkish Security Forces Command issued a statement that it’s Disaster Relief Task Force, which was deployed in Antakya on February 9 following the earthquake disaster in Türkiye is continuing with its relief and support efforts.

It was stated that aid materials received by the personnel in coordination from the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency AFAD and regional representatives of the Ministry of Family and Social Services have been delivered to the citizens in the most remote corners, in consultation with the District Governorates.

It also noted that 6,276 boxes of food packages, 2,360 crates of water, 14, 250 bottles of water, 3,000 hygienic gloves, 350 packets of baby diapers and 3,010 thousand boxes of hygiene packages were prepared to meet the needs of earthquake victims and distributed together with other materials.

It was also stated that various stationery, toys and sweets were distributed to the children in the region.

The statement concluded by noting that the Turkish Cypriot soldiers are continuing with their outstanding efforts to distribute goods and aid in the Antakya region.
