The Ankara Chamber of Industry and the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry (KTSO) have become “sister chambers”.

With the signing of the “Sister Chamber Cooperation Protocol,” chamber members will be encouraged to collaborate, enhance trade relations, and undertake joint projects.

The Ambassador of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to Ankara, İsmet Korukoğlu, along with the President of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry, Ali Kamacıoğlu, and members of the board, visited the President of the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO), Seyit Ardıç.

According to a statement released by the ASO, the protocol aims to encourage collaboration among chamber members, enhance trade relations, undertake joint projects, and facilitate the sharing of experiences in trade and investment between the two chambers.

Ardıç, whose views were mentioned in the statement, stressed that development and growth increase when shared.

“In the world today, it is not just cities but countries that are competing. If we collaborate in this process, we can elevate our competitiveness to higher levels. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is an integral part of us. We are always ready for cooperation based on sincerity and brotherhood, contributing to the economic strength and development of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The brotherhood between the Ankara Chamber of Industry and KTSO will be strengthened with the sister chamber protocol, and I believe this partnership will lead to new business opportunities. I wish the protocol to be beneficial for both chambers and our members” Ardıç said.

The KTSO President Kamacıoğlu for his part stressed that their goal was to increase the exports of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Pointing out that a significant part of the TRNC economy relied on trade and imports, Kamacıoğlu said, “For our country to become capable of production, we need industrial zones. Our most important deficiency is experience. ASO has ample experience in this regard, and we want to benefit from this experience to establish the production aspect of our economy.”
